Privacy Policy for AlzFocus, LLC

Welcome to AlzFocus, LLC (“AlzFocus,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). This Privacy Policy describes how AlzFocus collects, uses, stores, processes, protects, and discloses information when users access or use the AlzFocus mobile application and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
AlzFocus is designed to help users organize memories, photos, videos, schedules, reminders, and related personal content for themselves and individuals with whom they voluntarily share access.
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using AlzFocus, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Privacy Policy and consent to the collection, use, storage, and disclosure of information as described herein.
THIS IS A LEGALLY BINDING AGREEMENT. READ IT CAREFULLY. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE TERMS, DO NOT DOWNLOAD, ACCESS, OR USE THE ALZFOCUS APPLICATION.
1. Information We Collect
AlzFocus collects information voluntarily provided by users, along with limited technical and operational information necessary to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Services.
1.1 User-Provided Information
Users may voluntarily upload, create, store, organize, or manage information within the Services, including but not limited to:
- Photos and images
- Videos
- Memories and journal entries
- Personal notes
- Calendar events
- Schedules and reminders
- Names and profile information
- Shared family content
- Organizational and planning information
All information submitted to AlzFocus is entered solely at the discretion and responsibility of the user. AlzFocus does not independently verify the accuracy, completeness, legality, reliability, or validity of user-submitted information.
Users acknowledge that information entered into the Services—including reminders, caregiving notes, schedules, and shared content—may contain errors, omissions, inaccuracies, or outdated information.
1.2 Account and Registration Information
If account registration is enabled, AlzFocus may collect:
- Full name
- Email address
- Username
- Password
- Age
- Relationship statuses
- Authentication credentials
- Subscription status
- Account preferences
1.3 Shared Access Information
AlzFocus may allow users to invite family members, caregivers, friends, or other individuals to access shared content and collaborative features on a send-and-accept basis.
Shared users may be able to:
- View shared content
- Upload content
- Edit reminders or schedules
- Participate in collaborative caregiving features
Users are solely responsible for determining what information they share and with whom they share it.
AlzFocus does not independently verify:
- Familial relationships
- Caregiver status
- Guardianship
- Identity accuracy
- Legal authority
- The legitimacy of invitations or invited participants
Users acknowledge that invited individuals may not be who they claim to be and that AlzFocus does not guarantee the identity, authority, trustworthiness, or intentions of any participant granted shared access.
1.4 Revocation of Shared Access
Users may revoke shared access permissions for family members, caregivers, friends, or other invited participants at any time through available account or sharing settings.
When shared access is revoked, affected users may lose access to future synchronized content and updates associated with the shared account or shared materials. However, content that has already been accessed, downloaded, or stored by invited users may persist on their devices or accounts and may no longer be subject to control or deletion by AlzFocus.
To the extent permitted by law, AlzFocus is not responsible for the independent retention, redistribution, or further sharing of content by invited users outside of the Services.
1.5 In-App Purchases
AlzFocus may offer subscriptions or premium functionality through Apple’s In-App Purchase system.
Payment transactions are processed directly by Apple. AlzFocus does not collect or store complete payment card or banking information.
We may receive limited transaction-related information, including:
- Purchase confirmations
- Subscription status
- Transaction identifiers
- Renewal status
Use of Apple’s payment systems is subject to Apple’s applicable terms and privacy practices.
Subscriptions are automatically renewed unless canceled at least 48 hours before the end of the current billing period. Users may manage and cancel subscriptions through their Apple ID account settings.
1.6 Automatically Collected Information
When users access or use the Services, certain technical information may be collected automatically, including:
- Device type and model
- Operating system version
- App version
- IP address
- Device identifiers
- Crash reports
- Diagnostic information
- General usage analytics
- Notification preferences
This information is collected solely for operational, security, maintenance, analytics, and improvement purposes.

4. Health, Medication, and Medical Disclaimer

ALZFOCUS IS NOT A HEALTHCARE PROVIDER, MEDICAL DEVICE, EMERGENCY MONITORING SERVICE, PHARMACY SYSTEM, CLINICAL MONITORING SERVICE, DIAGNOSTIC TOOL, OR TREATMENT PLATFORM.
AlzFocus does not recommend or encourage the implementation of medical-related data.
AlzFocus is not a medical-based app and does not confirm the validity or correctness of submitted medical-related data. Any medical information submitted is done so with the user assuming all risk.
AlzFocus:
- Does not provide medical advice
- Does not diagnose conditions
- Does not prescribe medications
- Does not monitor health conditions
- Does not provide treatment recommendations
- Does not prevent, cure, or treat diseases
- Does not verify medication schedules or dosages
- Does not verify the accuracy of user-entered medical information
The Services are not intended for any medical or medication purposes and are solely optional organizational and convenience tools.
Users should always consult qualified physicians, pharmacists, caregivers, or other licensed healthcare professionals regarding medications, treatments, diagnoses, emergencies, or healthcare decisions.
4.1 Non-Recommended Medication Information Implementation
ALZFOCUS DOES NOT RECOMMEND THE IMPLEMENTATION OF ANY MEDICAL INFORMATION.
- Medication inputs entered by users may be incorrect, incomplete, outdated, dangerous, or improperly configured.
- AlzFocus does not validate medication names, dosages, schedules, interactions, timing, or medical appropriateness.
- Notifications may be delayed, duplicated, interrupted, malfunction, or never arrive.
- Users must not rely on AlzFocus for medication adherence, emergency care, medical supervision, or life-sustaining activities.
AlzFocus does not recommend, encourage, or support reliance on medication reminder functionality for medical treatment purposes.
Users assume all risks associated with entering, storing, viewing, sharing, or relying upon medication-related information within the Services.
4.2 Emergency Situations
AlzFocus is not monitored in real time and must not be used for:
- Medical emergencies
- Emergency response
- Crisis intervention
- Monitoring dangerous conditions
- Time-sensitive healthcare decisions
If you believe someone is experiencing a medical emergency, contact emergency services or a licensed healthcare provider immediately.
4.3 No HIPAA Coverage
AlzFocus is not a “covered entity” or “business associate” under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”) unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.
Users should not assume that information stored in AlzFocus receives HIPAA protections.
5. Apple Face ID and Device Biometric Authentication
AlzFocus may support optional biometric authentication features provided through Apple iOS, including Face ID or Touch ID.
These authentication features are provided and processed through Apple’s device-level biometric frameworks and security systems.
Biometric authentication using Apple Face ID or Touch ID is processed locally by Apple on the user’s device.
AlzFocus does not collect, receive, store, access, or retain:
- Raw facial scans used by Apple Face ID
- Apple biometric templates
- Apple Secure Enclave biometric data
- Fingerprint data used by Apple Touch ID
AlzFocus only receives confirmation from the operating system indicating whether authentication succeeded or failed.
Users acknowledge and agree that:
- Biometric authentication systems are not infallible.
- Authentication failures may occur.
- False positives or false negatives may occur.
- Unauthorized device access may still occur.
- Authorized users may occasionally be denied access.
- Device compromise, operating system issues, environmental conditions, or third-party failures may impact authentication reliability.
Biometric authentication is provided solely as a convenience feature and is not guaranteed to prevent unauthorized access.
Users remain responsible for securing their devices, credentials, and account access permissions.
6. User Content and Ownership
Users retain ownership of content uploaded to AlzFocus.
However, users grant AlzFocus a limited license to host, process, store, synchronize, display, and transmit content solely as necessary to operate the Services.
Users are solely responsible for:
- The legality of uploaded content
- Accuracy of submitted information
- Permissions to share content
- Sharing decisions
- Managing invited-user access
Users may not upload content that:
- Violates applicable laws
- Infringes intellectual property or privacy rights
- Contains malicious software
- Is fraudulent, abusive, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or unlawful
AlzFocus may remove or restrict content where reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law, or enforce policies.
By uploading images containing facial imagery, users represent and warrant that they have obtained any legally required notice, authorization, or consent from affected individuals.
7. Shared Access Risks
Users acknowledge that shared-access functionality inherently involves privacy and security risks.
Any invited participant may potentially:
- View sensitive information
- Download content
- Retain screenshots or copies
- Redistribute information outside the Services
Even after access is revoked, previously accessed content may remain stored on third-party devices.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AlzFocus is not responsible for misuse, redistribution, disclosure, retention, or unauthorized sharing of information by invited users or third parties.
8. Disclosure of Information
AlzFocus does not sell personal information for advertising purposes.
Information may be disclosed only:
- To service providers assisting operation of the Services
- To comply with legal obligations
- To protect rights, users, or security
- During mergers, acquisitions, financing transactions, or business transfers
Service providers may include cloud hosting providers, security providers, analytics vendors, authentication providers, customer support tools, and notification delivery services.
9. Data Storage, Security, and Risk Acknowledgment
AlzFocus implements commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect information.
However, users acknowledge and agree that:
- No electronic system can be guaranteed fully secure.
- Unauthorized access may occur.
- Data breaches may occur.
- Data leaks may occur.
- Shared content may be exposed.
- Data may be corrupted, lost, deleted, intercepted, or unavailable.
- Cloud systems and third-party infrastructure providers may experience failures.
- Software bugs, synchronization issues, outages, or infrastructure failures may impact data integrity or accessibility.
By downloading or using the Services, users knowingly assume and accept these risks.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, AlzFocus disclaims liability arising from unauthorized access, breaches, leaks, data loss, corruption, deletion, transmission failures, authentication failures, or service interruptions.
Users are responsible for maintaining independent backups of important information.
Users are also responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of account credentials
- Securing their devices
- Managing shared-user permissions
- Reviewing access granted to family members, caregivers, friends, or connected accounts
9.1 Biometric Security Limitations
Users acknowledge that biometric authentication systems, including Apple Face ID or Touch ID, may be vulnerable to:
- Unauthorized device access
- Device compromise
- Software vulnerabilities
- Hardware failures
- Third-party platform failures
- Authentication inaccuracies
AlzFocus does not guarantee the security or reliability of biometric authentication systems and disclaims liability arising from unauthorized access related to biometric authentication functionality to the fullest extent permitted by law.
In the event of a data security incident, AlzFocus may provide notifications as required by applicable law.
10. Notifications and Device Permissions
AlzFocus may request permissions for:
- Notifications
- Photos
- Camera access
- Calendar access
- Storage access
Notifications and reminders are provided on a best-effort basis only.
Delivery of notifications depends on numerous systems and conditions outside AlzFocus’s control, including:
- Apple notification services
- Device operating systems
- Connectivity
- Battery settings
- Background refresh permissions
- User settings
- Cloud synchronization systems
Notifications are not guaranteed to be accurate, timely, or appear at all.
11. Data Retention and Deletion
AlzFocus retains information only as reasonably necessary to:
- Provide the Services
- Maintain accounts
- Comply with legal obligations
- Resolve disputes
- Enforce agreements
- Fulfill operating purposes
Users may request deletion of information subject to operational or legal retention requirements.
Deleted information may temporarily persist in backups, caches, logs, or archived systems.
12. Analytics and Diagnostics
AlzFocus may use analytics and crash-reporting technologies to improve functionality, performance, reliability, and security.
Collected analytics information may include:
- Session activity
- Error reports
- Device characteristics
- Feature interactions
- Performance metrics
Analytics are used solely for internal operational purposes and not for advertising.
User-uploaded photos, videos, and memory data are not used to train generalized artificial intelligence or advertising systems.
13. Children’s Privacy
AlzFocus is not intended for children under 13 years of age.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If we discover that such information has been collected, we may delete it.
14. International Users
Users accessing the Services outside the United States acknowledge that information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other jurisdictions with different privacy laws.
15. User Rights and Choices
Depending on applicable law and jurisdiction, users may have the right to:
- Access personal information
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of personal information
- Request information regarding data practices
- Withdraw permissions previously granted

Deletion requests will be processed within a reasonable timeframe consistent with applicable law.
16. Disclaimer of Warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.
ALZFOCUS DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF:
- MERCHANTABILITY
- FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
- NON-INFRINGEMENT
- ACCURACY
- RELIABILITY
- AVAILABILITY
- SECURITY
- ERROR-FREE OPERATION
We do not guarantee that:
- The Services will be uninterrupted or error-free.
- Data will not be lost or corrupted.
- Reminders or notifications will function properly.
- Shared content will remain private or secure.
USE OF THE SERVICES IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK.
17. Apple App Store Compliance
AlzFocus complies with applicable Apple App Store policies and requirements relating to:
- User privacy
- Data transparency
- Consent requirements
- Biometric authentication disclosures
- In-app purchases
- Notification permissions
- Account management
- Permission disclosures
Users may also review Apple’s privacy practices through Apple’s platforms and settings.
18. Changes to This Privacy Policy
AlzFocus reserves the right to modify or update this Privacy Policy at any time.
Updated policies may be posted within the app, on our website, or communicated through notifications or email.
Continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

21. Consent and Assumption of Risk
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using AlzFocus, users:
- Consent to the collection, use, processing, storage, and disclosure of information as described in this Privacy Policy.
- Acknowledge the inherent risks of digital storage, cloud systems, internet-based services, and shared-access technologies.
- Accept the possibility of data breaches, leaks, loss, corruption, delays, unauthorized disclosure, or service interruptions.
- Acknowledge that reminders and notifications may fail.
- Agree not to rely on the Services for medical treatment, emergency response, or healthcare decisions.
- Acknowledge that shared users may retain or redistribute content outside the Services.
- Assume responsibility for all content they upload, share, or manage within the Services.
